A brand new take on the hack-and-slash genre, join in a Boss Rush adventure, where a clumsy cat uses the power of exchange to navigate their way through some thrilling Top-Down Boss Battles.

Note: This is the first demo from our indie group and all aspects of the game are a work in progress. We appreciate your understanding and eagerly await your feedback. This demo is more or less a show of idea and what COULD be the feel of the game. We are VERY open to criticism as this is our first time actually making a game!

Game Summary: Untitled Cat Game is a late submission for the Boss Rush themed Game Jam, inspired by the prompt “Exchange”. The game will feature a clumsy cat protagonist who has the unique ability to exchange places with enemies, items, and even projectiles. This mechanic is not just a way to dodge and attack enemies, but also a core part of the game’s emphasis on physics, positioning, and momentum. The time you take beating bosses are timed and you are rewarded with how fast you beat them! Encouraging you to take advantage of the unique use and combination of physics and exchanging to make plays to get some time off of your runs.

Gameplay Details: Our feline friend is very clumsy for a cat, they tend to take a while to change directions and may not always make it out of harms way in time on their own, but their ability to swap places with other objects more than compensates for it. Instead of dashing out of a bullet’s path, you’ll often find yourself swapping places with another object to let it take the hit for you! This results in dynamic melee fights that require quick thinking and strategic movement.

Game World: When a witch's housecat falls into her new experimental homebrew, who knows where that concoction could take them! Go on a journey through Heaven, Hell, and Earth as they fight their way back home, maybe take a Tarot Card reading to see what lies ahead of you. Expect creative boss designs and interesting movement mechanics that promise an engaging gaming experience.
